5 Top Tips for getting the BEST Wedding Day Photos
As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless special days for couples across the country. From intimate ceremonies to grand celebrations, each wedding is unique and unforgettable. To ensure your wedding photos are everything you’ve dreamed of, here are my top five tips to getting the best Wedding Day photos at Carr Bank:
1. Choose a Photographer Who Aligns with Your Style
Your wedding photos should reflect your personality as a couple. When selecting a photographer, look for someone whose style resonates with you. Do you prefer natural, candid shots or more traditional, posed portraits? Consider their portfolio and look at the colours and brightness of the photos. Some photographers follow trends and are very stylised (great for now but may not past the test of time) whilst others offer a more traditional approach.
2. Prioritise Natural Light
Natural light is a photographer’s best friend. Luckily at Carr Bank the main rooms offer plenty of natural light bursting through the windows. The Honeymoon Suite where you begin your preparation is wonderfully lit as well as the Bar area and Ballroom. Be sure to get some shots of you getting ready with make-up touch ups, photos on the atrium with your bridal or groomsmen party as well as some beautiful shots during the speeches.
3. Create a Shot List
A shot list is a helpful tool to ensure you get all the photos you want on your wedding day. Include must-have shots, such as family portraits and photos with your bridal party or groomsmen. Don’t forget to add candid moments you’d like to capture, like the first dance or a stolen kiss. This is not a necessity but certainly helps the photographer any key shots that must not be missed.
4. Relax and Enjoy the Day
Remember, your wedding day is about celebrating your love. Try not to get too caught up in the details or stress about the photos or anything else for that matter. The more relaxed you are, the more natural and beautiful your photos will be. Let your photographer and wedding co-ordinator at Carr Bank guide you and trust their expertise to get the best out of your day.
5. Invest in a Second Shooter
If your budget allows, consider hiring a second shooter. This will ensure that all the important moments of your wedding are captured, even if you’re busy mingling with guests. A second shooter can also capture details and candid moments that you might miss.
At Boda, we always work as a duo so you’ll always have a second pair of eyes (and lenses) for the job.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your wedding photos are a beautiful and lasting memory of your special day.
